Account
There is no Collagic password. On the web you sign in with your email address and a link we send you. Three different things get called an account. This page says which is which.
Sign in with your email, or paste a link code there if you were given one.
Privacy and storage
Every choice below shows what you gain, what you give up, what it costs and what leaves your device. Nothing changes without you: a change that lets more leave your device asks first. The same choices are in the Mac app, under Settings, Privacy.

Space, deleting and leaving
What the cloud holds, what happens at the limit, and how you take everything out or erase it.
Cloud space and what happens when it is full
Your limit, what you use, and what happens at the limit.
- You gain: You know your limit and can plan.
- You give up: At the cap, new saves from your phone and browser pause until there is room.
- Cost to you: Space used out of your cap, shown by type: originals and thumbnails.
- What leaves this device: Nothing.
Default: At the cap, new saves from your phone and browser pause, and nothing is deleted. The size of the cap is a proposal, 500 MiB, and is not final.
Making room is your choice: delete pictures, or export everything. Nothing is deleted for you.
Kept in: Collagic Cloud: read from your account each time
Searching and finding
Where your searches go and who sees your search words.
Where plugins look for pictures
Photoshop, Figma, GIMP and Inkscape plugins look in your cloud library, on this computer, or both. You pick in each plugin's own panel.
Default: Cloud and this computer, merged. Your search scope above is the ceiling: a plugin can narrow it, never widen it.
Change it in the plugin's panel, any time. Nothing the plugin already fetched is sent back.
Kept in: Each plugin's own panel, on the machine it runs on
On this device
What this browser or Mac keeps for you.
Staying signed in on this device
How long this browser stays signed in to your cloud library.
- You gain: No sign-in each visit.
- You give up: A cookie stays on this device until it ends or you sign out.
- Cost to you: None.
- What leaves this device: A sign-in cookie, to Collagic only. Nothing else.
Default: Thirty days from the day you sign in, on a personal device. Sign out ends it at once.
Sign out any time. It ends this sign-in on our side and clears the cookie here.
Kept in: A sign-in cookie in this browser; Collagic keeps only a one-way fingerprint of it
Offline copy on this device
What this browser keeps so your library opens with no network.
- You gain: Open your library with no network.
- You give up: Browser storage is used, and your browser can clear it when it needs room.
- Cost to you: Space on this device, in the numbers above.
- What leaves this device: Nothing leaves this device.
Default: The pages of the library you looked at and the thumbnails you saw: up to 40 pages and 500 thumbnails, oldest dropped first. Full-size pictures are never kept this way.
Clear it any time. The next time you open your library it starts keeping what you look at again.
Kept in: This browser's own storage. Never sent to Collagic

Usage and crash information
Collagic collects none. There is no switch because there is nothing to switch.
- You gain: Nothing about how you use Collagic is collected.
- You give up: Bugs are found only when you report them.
- Cost to you: None.
- What leaves this device: Nothing. No usage or crash information is sent, and no toggle exists. (Looking for a new version is separate: see Check for updates.)
Default: None. If this ever changes it will be opt-in, and the privacy page will change first.
Nothing to reverse.
Kept in: Nothing is stored
This browser
The name below stays in this browser only. The browser board can offer it when you credit a picture you made. It is not sent to Collagic.
The browser library
The browser board, collections, and feeds are a private library. They stay in this browser and are not uploaded. Public access: Coming soon. The Mac app is a different library and still needs no login.
The Mac app
The Mac app opens your library without a login. Watch folders, cut-outs, and boards work offline. A model key you type in Settings stays in that app's preferences file. Do not paste it into a website.
Cloud Inbox
The browser extension can store a clip in a cloud inbox, separate from the library. To link the Mac app or the extension, choose "Sign in with your email" in the app's Settings or the extension's Options. Your browser opens to a page that shows a code to compare with the one the app shows; press Approve and that device gets its own key, with no code to copy. A link code or a key still works ("I have a link code"). Don't share a key. To end a key, remove that device under "Where you are signed in" above. Sync across devices: Coming soon. Join the waitlist to leave an email.
Paying
The Mac app works on its own. Cloud is optional sync. Prices are not set, and checkout is off. See Pricing.
