Collagic stays on your machine. Other programs talk to a local bridge, or you clip a page into an inbox.

On your machine

  • The Mac app keeps your library, cut-outs, and boards on your Mac. Download: Coming soon. See Download.
  • The browser board, collections, and feeds are a private library. They are not open to the public yet. Pictures stay in this browser until you clear them. They are not a public wall.
  • The Clip to Collagic extension works in your browser. Arming it asks permission to read the page you clip. A clip sends that image or note, the page address, and your token to the inbox you set. Pages you do not clip are not sent.

Other programs

  • Photoshop: a panel that talks to the local bridge. Network access is limited to this machine.
  • Figma: a plugin with the same local-only network rule.
  • GIMP and Inkscape: scripts that use the same local bridge.
  • Canva: Coming soon. Nothing is sent to Canva today.

Helpful next to, not instead of

  • Photoshop, Figma, GIMP, and Inkscape already have a local door: place a clip, send the edit back, leave the original here.
  • Canva and Adobe Express are where a finished piece gets a template, a size, and a team. The helpful move is a credited handoff, not a second editor.
  • Photopea, Affinity, and Procreate take a PNG. They do not offer a local library bridge. Export from Collagic and credit stays on the file.
  • Eagle and PureRef hold references. Collagic does not copy their catalogs. A collection here is private, and a feed is a hunt for pictures you can cut.

Pictures from elsewhere

  • Openverse, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Chronicling America supply openly licensed or public-domain images. The source and license stay on the clip.
  • A picture you did not make still needs the photographer or archive named. See Credit policy.
